Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, a British American artist and a sitarist, is most well-known for her musical talents. She was first within her age bracket to be a member of the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Shankar is one of India's most promising stars on the sitar. She is both the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982 and was a young girl who travelled to London in London and New Delhi. When she was 13 she staged her first show at New Delhi. Later, in Encinitas CA she attended high school. She graduated with distinction in 1999. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman but she has a very amazing career in music and performance. She is often seen performing alongside her father and has performed with him for a long time years. Her debut self-titled album Anourag in 1998. It was followed by the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album two years later. The stage is a very significant part of her work. She's performed at many famous venues around the globe. The career of Anoushka doesn't only involve music. She published Bapi The Heart of My Life, in the year 2002. This is a picture biography that pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. Also, in films in 2003 she played the role in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays the role of a teenage Bharat Natyam dancer. Her career continues to grow and she is expected to achieve great success in the future. Anoushka Shankar is a British native who lived her childhood split between London, Delhi and California. When she was 9, she started studying music alongside her father. Her debut performance on the sitar came in her 75th birthday celebration in Delhi, four years after. Anoushka, who accompanied her father on his worldwide tour, gained a remarkable quantity of knowledge. In her teenage years she appeared in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. In recognition of being a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
